“The artist moves out of the society that would have protected her, into the dark forest, into the world of fire, of original experience.
The artist must face trials and bring a whole new body of possibilities into the field of interpreted experience for others to experience.
This is the heroine’s deed.”
-Harriet Grannis Moore
We do not know if these words are Harriet’s own. In any case, this is how she saw her self, and this is how she still lived her active life.
Harriet never doubted her aspirations as an artist.
Unfortunately, the Alzheimer’s disease struck her and the heroine now lives in a care home – unable to remember much of her illustrious career as an artist.
